What happens if you fail CompTIA A+?

what can i do with comptia a+

CompTIA is good for the price, if you recognize that they are vendor neutral but also entry level. If you have little to no experience about a subject, and you actually take the time to study the material, you can learn a lot. However, if you just purchase a braindump and cram for the exam, they are effectively worthless.

Security+ is a required certification for gov. information security jobs, so they have certain requirements they have to meet. Linux+ is the hardest entry-level cert I have taken. The bootcamp itself was two weeks long; most bootcamps are only a week.

Server+ seemed more like a rehash of A+, as most of the material was generic computer things, rather than specific to a server. Project+ is actually pretty good, if you don’t want to bother with PMP but still want to understand project management.

CompTIA is actually respected, compared to other certification companies. A lot of you get from a cert comes from what you put into it. If you study the material and try to practice hands-on as much as possible, you can actually learn a lot, and be knowledgeable when it comes to interviews.

However, many companies use certs as part of the applicant filtering process; if you have the proper certs in the HR search terms, then you move onto the next round. They don’t care if you actually have knowledge to back up the cert, and often the hiring managers aren’t technical enough to identify whether you’re just book smart or actually know what you’re doing.
